STORE: demostration project on energy storage technologies

STORE is a demonstration proyect supported by Fondo Tecnologico of CDTI and led by Endesa. The proyect will comprise the installation of energy storage systems based on BrZn and NaS batteries and ultracapacitors in power systems of the Canary islands. IIT will contribute in a number of tasks of the techical and economic feasibility studies and experimental analysis.
Research topics:
- *Steady-state: Load flows, analysis of power system constraints, optimal load flows, voltage control ancilliary service,short-circuits, protections in transmission and ditribution networks
- *Stability: Large disturbance stability, tuning of frequency loadshedding schemes, excitation control, small disturbance stability, tuning of power system stabilizers, identification of AVR and governor models
